Can’t I just use DIY cleaners, dishwashing soap, or rubbing alcohol instead?

We don’t recommend DIY cleaners, especially if you’re playing in a USBC tournament; it’s just too risky for your bowling balls’ proprietary coverstock blends! Instead, opt for a bowling ball cleaning spray with a solution specifically formulated for the lane. This is just like why people prefer specific soaps for washing cars over washing their dishes, and why we use shampoo for our hair instead of hand soap. 

Are there any places or tournaments where this bowling ball cleaning spray won’t be allowed? 

While this ELITE bowling ball cleaning solution is approved for United States Bowling Congress tournaments, not all alleys or competitions might allow it. When in doubt, please check with the alley or the tournament hosts directly, and don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.

What kind of shammy or towel goes best with this bowling ball cleaning spray? 

Your choice of a shammy or a towel depends on personal preference, tournament rules, the ball’s coverstock, and lane conditions themselves. Ultimately, leather shammies are especially suitable for high-performance players due to their superior ability to keep balls clean, even in oily conditions. Microfiber towels are preferred because they’re still highly effective at a lower cost and with easier maintenance.
