Type: Cleaners & Polishes
The ELITE Hydro Cleanser 8 oz. is one of the best bowling ball cleaning sprays available. It extracts dirt and oil without harmful artificial chemicals. This bowling ball cleaning solution is gentle enough for daily use on all types of bowling balls, including reactive and particle-filled ones. It deep cleans, strengthens, enhances, and gives the ball a never-before-seen shine on its natural surface. This cleaner is even USBC-approved, which means you can use it before and after USBC competitions to maintain your performing edge while observing the rules and proper lane etiquette.
The most under appreciated heroes in improving bowling performance are bowling ball cleaning sprays, towels, and shammies, as well as other basic cleaning gear. Keep your bowling ball in top condition so you can dominate on the lanes. To achieve this, invest in a bowling ball cleaning solution specifically designed to clean coverstock and dry off quickly. When your ball is not in play, ensure it is securely protected in a padded bowling ball bag for maximum protection.
We actually have an entire blog article dedicated to tips and tricks for cleaning bowling balls. We also go in-depth about other maintenance best practices to extend the lifespan of your bowling balls through resurfacing.
We don’t recommend DIY cleaners, especially if you’re playing in a USBC tournament; it’s just too risky for your bowling balls’ proprietary coverstock blends! Instead, opt for a bowling ball cleaning spray with a solution specifically formulated for the lane. This is just like why people prefer specific soaps for washing cars over washing their dishes, and why we use shampoo for our hair instead of hand soap.Â
While this ELITE bowling ball cleaning solution is approved for United States Bowling Congress tournaments, not all alleys or competitions might allow it. When in doubt, please check with the alley or the tournament hosts directly, and don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Your choice of a shammy or a towel depends on personal preference, tournament rules, the ball’s coverstock, and lane conditions themselves. Ultimately, leather shammies are especially suitable for high-performance players due to their superior ability to keep balls clean, even in oily conditions. Microfiber towels are preferred because they’re still highly effective at a lower cost and with easier maintenance.
