Type: Bowling Ball
The ELITE Predator Xmax is the high-performance pearl option from the ELITE brand, sitting alongside the Predator solid featuring the XF Gravitational Pearl coverstock powered inside by the Titan Asymmetric core. If you are looking for a strong reaction ball, the ELITE’s Predator Xmax bowling ball is your answer. It has a 0.022 Mass Bias Diff, and we recommend drilling using a strong layout to allow this beast to encourage continuation through the mid lane and ultimately the pins. The polished finish will allow this ball to skid down the lane before it hooks back to the pocket with authority!
The Predator bowling ball line from ELITE is a superb choice for competitive bowlers who need a solid choice for lanes with heavy oil conditions. With a high-quality asymmetric core with some of the highest differentials you can find, and a coverstock that’s designed to glide over surfaces with less friction, you will be able to hook with even greater finesse and satisfying spins that respond well to your throws. Check out more of the latest in high-performance balls for even more options to match your style with any lane conditions and other specific needs.
All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown.
What should I consider when weighing the difference between flare potential and hook potential?
Flare potential is for the distance a ball can travel based on its ability to travel down the lane, whereas hook potential denotes the ball’s ability to curve on the lane. The combination of inner core and outer coverstock is what creates that delicate balance between velocity and RG, or radius of gyration. With this ball, you will have an RG and flare potential that is particularly high, which means the ball will pick up speed relatively quickly from midlane on.
How does the ELITE Predator bowling ball’s Titan Asymmetric Core work?
This ball has an asymmetric core, which allows for more reaction opportunities. The asymmetric core means it is designed to distribute weight more unevenly, creating higher flare potential that picks up closer to the end of the lane, when you need the most velocity. Its “Titan” size denotes a core that is larger than that of other high-performance balls, which adds an additional locus of control for this highly responsive bowling ball.
How does the ELITE Predator bowling ball’s coverstock help my competitive edge?
A highly polished coverstock, such as Predator XMAX’s XF gravitational pearl coverstock, is what helps generate that balance between flare potential and hook potential. This highly polished coverstock is especially beneficial in storing energy during its travels from release to midlane, because its lack of friction helps propel your throw in the direction you threw it, as the core helps it to pick up more speed.
What if I want a bowling ball with higher differentials?
Because this bowling ball is just under .046, you will want to shop for more bowling balls with a differential greater than .05. Balls with differentials of .05 or higher are recommended if you are looking to literally get the bowl rolling earlier after your release, rather than saving its momentum closer to the pins.
